I have 1800 miles on 2017 GT350. When I was tracking it the dipstick kept coming out of the filler tube and enough oil to make a sizable cloud of smoke. Ford can't find anything wrong. Any ideas?

My 2017 GT350 has 4000 miles on it. At about 2600 it started ticking upon acceleration and deceleration. There is a sweet spot in between. I've been told this is piston slap. Problem is it doesn't do it only when cold and doesn't go away when warmed up. This sound makes me cringe every time I drive the car. This sound can't be normal but Ford can't diagnose it. Help?

I've been driving around for the first 2 weeks of owning this car in normal mode with the exhaust, steering and shocks in sport. Had no idea how aggressive the ECU mapping was in SPORT. Holy cow!

mine isnt that bad .... no where near it ..... but once i reved to high and didnt have the clutch fully engage and got that smell .... it was my fault .. it did go away after a day ... i know better .. anyway go to your Ford store .... the clutch is covered for 12 mths or 12000 miles for defects ..... you might get lucky and get it replaced under warranty

My 2017 GT 350 with just over 3000 miles has a burnt clutch/ burnt rubber smell coming from motor area and when A/C is turned on the cockpit is filled with the burnt smell. Regardless if I've been driving it or just sitting in the garage. Horrible smell emanating from engine bay... Any ideas? FYI - The clutch seems fine, no issues and has been driven correctly and easy in the first 3000 miles.

Rprout, my car consumes a quart about every 1200 miles give or take. I drive it aggresively on the streets using lots of high RPMS ... according to ford this is within normal limits of the design

I changed dead battery in 2008 Shelby, now my instrument cluster is not working correctly. No fuel indication , no oil pressure indication,no blinkers or 4 ways(indication). All lights work but don't indicate. Did I blow a fuse, does the computer need reset??

I'm in desperate need of some guidance.  I've put a lot (I'm not telling) of miles on my 16 GT 350 and I'm having some real issues with my drivetrain.  There are multiple spinning noises and gear grinding noises coming from the flywheel or clutch/trans with vibration felt in depressed (half way) pedal.  Many people familiar with drive train tell me it is not a bearing issue but most likely an issue with either the flywheel (imbalance) or the clutch disc's.  I've taken it to two local Ford dealerships only to find out that 1st dealership... "are not comfortable addressing the issues" after she was in service for 4 days and 2nd dealership... "our transmission tech cannot get to it until the middle of next month".  I later found out they both have a terrible service complaints with tons of negative feedback comments online.   

 

I'm trying to find a dealership near me (Columbia, SC) that will fix the issues.  I'm extremely worried about damage to the TR 3160 and need to get her in service fast.   

 

Does anyone know how I can find a dealership that has service experience with the 15/16 Shelby GT350 near me?  Ford performance cannot give me a reference and I'm getting a long silence on the phone from most of the dealerships I've contacted.

 

Once again, I live near Columbia, SC.  The dealership I purchased her from is about 6 hours away and is too far to drive in this condition.

 

Any help is much appreciated.

Hello Scuba.

Is there any way you can upload a video to show us the noise that you are having with your transmission.

Im afraid that the clutch and gearbox will soon become the Achilles heel of our cars and ford is not ready to face this.

I just hope Im wrong.....

I've had some difficulty with Ford actually.  This (2nd) new dealership had the car for two weeks and only discovered an exhaust leak, great but what about the clutch/trans?  They found that one of the flaps to engage mild to wild (Exhaust Sport mode) is suck as well.  This prevents the driver from changing the user selectable drive modes or putting the exhaust in sport mode from the toggle switch.  The dealership was also chasing a different noise that the clutch noise I originally described, after a test drive with a tech...the 'Ah Ha' look appeared on his face and told me they were chasing a different noise...the exhaust.  I'll keep the car until the exhaust parts come's in, after which they will drop the exhaust and trans to see what is going on within the bell housing/synchros.  

 

 

BTW, don't call Ford Performance Shelby hotline after you've had a long day and feel you might miss understand some questions...They'll tell you "not to call them as the GT350 is not a speciality vehicle, call the normal Ford hotline for any questions or concerns" WOW.  I couldn't believe they actually told me that.  In their defense I did misunderstand a question but forgive me after working 16 hours on problems within the Middle East.  I wish I could tell the Taliban/ISIL-KP to call a different number while I'm on duty.   I've saved so much deployment money to purchase a high performance vehicle and I think I should expect high performance technical help/service and maybe some patience.  

 

If anyone knows of a dealership close(ish) to either Fort Jackson or Shaw AFB in South Carolina that will treat the car like it should be treated...Please, I'm begging you, let me know.  

 

Sorry for venting but this problem has turned into a real stressor for me and wife.  I'm going to stop being so aggressive in my complaints as I've found that has been getting me nowhere.

 

In conclusion...I'll let you all know when all is said and done, but don't hold your breath, It may be a month from now.

The plate between the trans and engine is loose in some of the cars and makes a lot of noise.

It looks as though you have several ideas of fellow members on what the problem could be.

 

I know you contacted the shellby hot line but was that FRPP ?

 

If it wasnt, FRPP might be away to go to find out a dealership that can work with you and if its that bad I might suggest to

take the trannny down for an inspection .... odds are they are going to find something wrong and be able to fix it .... 

 

the more people give u advice such as I have at sometime a light bulb will go off and you will find your smoking gun,

 

pls keep us posted as what it is you do find

That is who I suggested u call .... FRPP .... Ford Racing Perf Parts , 800-367-3788, this is Ford

 

I work for a Ford store. Another suggestion is to find out who the area sales Zone rep is and have him suggest a store for you.

Also when you call a store dont talk to a serv adv.... speak to the service director
