You probably not going to get alot of help on that car .... this site is mostly about the 15-18 GT350 models .... you need to go to site that specializes in those years of cars

I have 1800 miles on 2017 GT350. When I was tracking it the dipstick kept coming out of the filler tube and enough oil to make a sizable cloud of smoke. Ford can't find anything wrong. Any ideas?

@  Fantiniastic : (31 December 2017 - 01:10 PM)

@Hell on Wheels I have just over 1000 miles on mine and I experience the same thing - don't think it's abnormal. I've read its an expected behavior of this engin

@  smokum : (30 December 2017 - 10:28 AM)

Try calling the hot line at FRPP .....

@  Hell on Wheels : (28 December 2017 - 09:58 PM)

My 2017 GT350 has 4000 miles on it. At about 2600 it started ticking upon acceleration and deceleration. There is a sweet spot in between. I've been told this is piston slap. Problem is it doesn't do it only when cold and doesn't go away when warmed up. This sound makes me cringe every time I drive the car. This sound can't be normal but Ford can't diagnose it. Help?

If anyone hears of anyone wanting to swap please let me known thanks

Anyone want to sell me their factory car cover?

@  Fantiniastic : (24 December 2017 - 11:18 AM)

I've been driving around for the first 2 weeks of owning this car in normal mode with the exhaust, steering and shocks in sport. Had no idea how aggressive the ECU mapping was in SPORT. Holy cow!

@  smokum : (20 December 2017 - 01:00 PM)

mine isnt that bad .... no where near it ..... but once i reved to high and didnt have the clutch fully engage and got that smell .... it was my fault .. it did go away after a day ... i know better .. anyway go to your Ford store .... the clutch is covered for 12 mths or 12000 miles for defects ..... you might get lucky and get it replaced under warranty

@  Hitman1 : (19 December 2017 - 03:15 PM)

My 2017 GT 350 with just over 3000 miles has a burnt clutch/ burnt rubber smell coming from motor area and when A/C is turned on the cockpit is filled with the burnt smell. Regardless if I've been driving it or just sitting in the garage. Horrible smell emanating from engine bay... Any ideas? FYI - The clutch seems fine, no issues and has been driven correctly and easy in the first 3000 miles.

@  smokum : (14 December 2017 - 02:35 PM)

Rprout, my car consumes a quart about every 1200 miles give or take. I drive it aggresively on the streets using lots of high RPMS ... according to ford this is within normal limits of the design

@  Rprout : (13 December 2017 - 07:39 PM)

My 2017 GT 350 consumed 1qt in 920 miles - spirited street driving only - I see at least one person here with oil consumption issues. Anyone else? Remedies?

@  Foon : (08 December 2017 - 01:46 PM)

I changed dead battery in 2008 Shelby, now my instrument cluster is not working correctly. No fuel indication , no oil pressure indication,no blinkers or 4 ways(indication). All lights work but don't indicate. Did I blow a fuse, does the computer need reset??

@  smokum : (07 December 2017 - 03:30 PM)

Congrats tipmartinez ..... incredible car isnt it

Being an old school guy I like the classic look of the white ball shift knob.  The knob has the shift pattern etched in black on top and has cobra logos on the sides (I could do without the cobra logos). The shift knob is available in a bunch of different colors and costs around $70 from CJ Pony Parts. Installation is as easy as unscrewing the factory knob, putting a dab of blue Loctite on the shift handle threads then screwing on the new knob.

I did the same with the color-match (DIB & white stripes).

Install was extremely simple.... and I agree Steve-- could do without the cobra emblems. :)

I just installed a white CJ Pony Parts knob in my GT350.  I like it a lot better than the factory "knob."  It fits my hand better and just looks right.  Looks like a manual shifter of days past instead of an automatic transmission gear selector stuck on a manual transmission.

Although it came with some blue Loctite (#243, medium strength) I have a bottle of purple (#222, low strength) and used that in case I want to remove it some day.  I figure if it works loose, I'll just use the blue stuff.  So far the knob hasn't moved a bit.

Mine is on the way, except I got the shift patter and stripes.  I also like the old hot rod look, but now I'm wondering if a red knob would have been a super nice touch sitting right beside the red start button?!?!  Oh well.

How long did it take to get your knob from order date; since they say all knobs are custom order??

I really like the look of the white ball. LMR has them with GT350 on the side instead of the cobra. Because it's round, do you find the shifter  sits much lower then OEM?
