Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

IF YOU FOUND A GT350R AT MSRP ITS PROBABLY ALREADY SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE .... JUMP ON IT ... DO NOT PAST GO DO NOT COLLECT $200

@  Biggest : (27 January 2018 - 10:10 AM)

Hey Guys, im new to this forum(registered now) Can any of you give me an idea of what a good price for a new 2017 Gt350R is? I have one on hold in New Jersey, Black with white stripe and electronic package, MSRP is $68020, I have not found one at MSRP so my question is whats a good/decient price on a 2017? Thanks

Just got back from the GT350 Track Attack program at Ford Performance Racing School, and can't say enough about how fantastic the program is! The classes and track time were great, but the added bonus was finding out when I arrived that Dave Pericak, Director of Ford Performance, and Jim Holland, VP of Engineering would be in the class with us!

Not only were they obviously very passionate about the cars that Ford is producing, but they also expressed great appreciation for the people who spend their hard earned money on cars like the GT350. It was so cool to see how they just fit in like a couple of "car guys" and enjoyed the experience just like the rest of us. Would have been a fantastic experience even if they weren't there, but having them in the mix was icing on the cake! When you look in your mirrors and see Dave on your tail, it's pretty cool and yes a little intimidating.

As I said, the program is fantastic. If you haven't signed up yet, make the effort and investment to take advantage of this opportunity. Even if you never plan to take your car to the track, it's a great opportunity to understand the capabilities of your car. Best of all, you're doing it in a school car rather than your own.

I also highly recommend adding the second day in the race-prepped Boss 302FRS. Very different car than the GT350, but still a ton of fun.

I'm going in June, Don.  I'll be sure to tell you how great a time it was when I get back!  (heh heh)  Seriously, it's an opportunity I don't think I can pass up.  For me, this is one of those "you snooze, you lose situations."  If I don't go, I know I'll regret it later.  I have yet to hear anybody post that they didn't have a good time.  As you know the first day is free.  "Free" sorta...  Of course we're still on the hook for expenses and I think the insurance is a must-have.  Still, a chance to track a GT350 with an instructor is the chance of a lifetime.

If you need additional encouragement, I'm sure there are a number of people here who can chime in to "assist" with your decision! :-)

If you purchased your GT350 in 2016 and didn't attend the track attack in 2017, can you attend in 2018?

I attended in October of this year and I highly recommend it.  As MustBD2 said above, even if you don’t plan on tracking your car you should do the racing school just to see what these cars can do in a safe track environment.

They run GT350s on day one.  Second day is a race-prepped Boss 302 or the Mustang school cars.  The school cars are GTs with some nice goodies added.  No Rs in sight.

Thank you sir !!

A hypothetical question for you. If you take a GT350 and put R rims and tires on it, how close would these two cars be on a race course ??
