Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

@  Biggest : (27 January 2018 - 10:10 AM)

Hey Guys, im new to this forum(registered now) Can any of you give me an idea of what a good price for a new 2017 Gt350R is? I have one on hold in New Jersey, Black with white stripe and electronic package, MSRP is $68020, I have not found one at MSRP so my question is whats a good/decient price on a 2017? Thanks

Do you just "drop the clutch" using launch control?

So Ive read Ford literature and their videos on how to use launch control and their instructions are to "drop the clutch". So does this mean literally letting go of the clutch while its revved up to the set rpm in first? I heard this is bad for the tranny/drive line. Just curious how other people are using this feature.

They showed us how to use launch control at the GT350 Track Attack. It's pretty much what you described. Rev it up and drop the clutch! Wasn't too worried when it was their car instead of mine, but I was surprised at how smooth the launch seemed.

I'm going to have to try this.  I hoped for a chance at the Track Attack, but as of June '17 they don't do it anymore.  Seems rough on the car.  Maybe that's why.

One of my Ford folks told me that it does a lot of wear and tear on the car thus your spot on with your comment!

Anytime u do things like this its going to be excess wear and tear on the componets.

I dont do that but I do alot of high rpm down shifting to slow down and i know i am going to get less life out of my clutch but cant help myself

Love the sound of the motor slowing the car down esp when it "gurgles"

Do you have a good rpm mode to launch from? What works best for any of you? I tried 5500, then when I dropped the clutch car didn't launch well. It launched a little better at 5000 rpm. Anyone?

my '17 is new, only 200 miles on her

I've tried to engage LC but failed.

I wasn't interested in doing the actual launch yet, still breaking her in, but I am trying to learn the controls & settings.

I've followed the instructions to a T but when I hold down the accelerator she revs up past the RPM set point, so LC is not being set.

Q: do you have to have a certain amount of miles on the car before you can use these track settings?

Are you rev matching your downshifts? A little heel toe action?

We're a long way from Mexico. I wonder how the Mounties are to deal with? I'm sure they are easy to shake, when they're on horseback...
