Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

I've got a 2017 with the electronics package. There's definitely not a subwoofer in the trunk. So, two rear deck speakers, 2 front tweeters, two front mids, and two front woofers. Is there a front mid speaker in the dash above the oil gauges? I haven't looked close enough to tell

Finally found the answer on line. The 2017 with the electronics package has the same 9 speaker system Ford started making in 2015. There is a 3 1/2 inch center channel in dash above the oil gauges, for surround sound. Different amp than the seven speaker system, too. 8+1, for what that's worth

for complete 360 degree sound do the following steps:

1. Lower your windows

2. Flip your exhaust to 'Sport' mode

3. Hit the gas until you reach about 4,000 to 5,000 rpm

Now you can enjoy the complete surround sound plus others around you will enjoy your music as well... :)

So does the 2016 not have a speaker in that dash spot above the oil gauges with all the slots? I have a 2017 but had a 2016 and both it and another 2017 are on the showroom of my dealership. And when you look down through the windshield of the 2016 you can see a circular spot in the dash slots exactly the same as the 2017. So would that mean its blank under it and that Ford knew on the 2016 they were going to put a speaker in there?

thats a good question ....... when you looked down from the windshield on your 16, you were not able to see a speaker ?

How about the 17, can you visibly see the speaker ?

On both the 16 and 17 when looking down through windshield it looks the same. In the middle of those slots you see a round circle 3 inches or so. And looks as though its a speaker. But can't actually see for sure if its a speaker or the covering over where the 16 didn't have a speaker even though maybe they were preparing for putting one in in the future and therefore if a covering did on the 17 under the covering. or like I said that is a speaker I see. If so then both the 16 and 17 have one there.

I looked at my car and see where a speaker could be and my guess its probably just that ... a speaker !!

The '16s have a speaker on the front deck above the oil gauges.

But speaking more generally, the sound system sounds like tinny crap to me. Unless you boost the treble and bass to near max, it just sounds ridiculously weak.

So any more thoughts where the 9th. speaker is if the 2016 has a speaker on the deck above the oil gauges also. It was said that's where it is on the 2017.

No there is no sub woofer in the Shelby's even though for some reason on the 2017's at the lower part of center dash panel they put the word in white SHAKER (which the Shaker usually includes a sub woofer). No one can still seem to figure out the mystery of that also just like where actually is the 9th' speaker on the 2017's.

Me having partial hearing loss doesnt help but I am happy with the system though I have to have the volume up for obvious reasons !!

Can understand the hearing situation. I'm an old fart with very little hearing out of my left ear therefore can't hear true stereo sound any more and also therefore the system is just fine and I also have to turn it up.

When the day comes that you cannot hear your exhaust sound (Sport mode) at 6,000 rpm's with the windows down will be the day I sell my GT350 for being to 'Old' to drive her  :)

What?  (grin)  I think you're as old as you "think" you are.  IMHO, chronological and intellectual ages don't have to align.  Sometimes I think I'm 17, sometimes older but rarely my chronological age. I refuse to grow up!
