Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

Hi Folks,

I've joined the forum in the hope that i a) eventually end up with a new toy and B) to get some pointers on the stock base media system.

Here in Dubai, the local ford dealer only orders cars with the base stereo system (small screen, no nav etc...)

I understand it would be the Tech Pack that i would need to order if ordering a new car, but due to the timeframe on getting one, i would rather pick up a unit they already have here and upgrade the stereo.

Issue i'm having is that the only dealer in the UAE has advised they have never done such a thing in their history of operating.

Main concern is they said if i do the conversion myself they will void warranty on all parts they can justify, but mainly its the AC system as the faceplate panel houses the controls, but i believe the touchscreen unit also has this ability.

The have told me to go get all the info on what i want to do and they will check with their tech guys to see what is possible and to keep everything under warranty i need to stick to OEM parts.

So, i need to get an idea on Parts

I understand i will need the 8in unit itself, presumably all wiring (existing wouldn't be sufficient or is it cross/compatible?), the faceplate to house the new larger screen.

What i dont know, is do i need the circuit board from the existing unit to attach to the new faceplate, fit the new head unit then connect the relevant harness?

Looking on fordparts.com, i have come across the following, but i cant work out what parts are needed for the set up i want

http://www.fordparts...keyword=radio#

I would like the 8in screen, with the correct bezel/faceplate and for the system to have Nav, which i presume would need the Middle East Map pack loaded on an SD card, or are these now loaded directly onto the units?

There are a number of different Interface numbers and i have no idea which is which.

Whilst waiting for Ford USA to open so i can chat to someone online, does anyone have any pointers or has done this previously and has part numbers?

I can give them any number of videos from online showing them how to do it.

Any help appreciated and looking forward to a possible solution so i can move forward with a purchase.

Cheers

Hey Smithy!

I'm in exactly the same boat as you, the dealer in Dubai is honestly quite clueless.

It's not that they order these cars that way, I think Ford USA simply puts together a list of cars and sends it to them, I don't think they have that much say in what they receive.

I remember when I booked my GT350 in September 2015, they had the allotments, but all they knew they were receiving were the colours, and they did say they were coming with the 8inch screens (sync 3).

When I received the car in May 2016, the colour was right but the screen was the 4inch, so yeah they suddenly gave a "discount" to make us happy lol...

But yeah, they're clueless, they don't really know what to do when it comes to these kinds of cars... our only hope is to see if Ford comes out with an upgrade pack or something, because as much as I love my car, I sometimes miss having great audio, not to mention the screen....

I'm going to keep looking, or say fuck it at some point in a few years when the GT500 is out.... :/

Really love this car though!

Have you gotten the cars yet? And out of curiosity why cant they ship a car with the Nav screen??

Im not in parts but I do work for a Ford store and have in the past shipped cars overseas so I am

aware of the process.

If the only reason your getting cars without Nav is your source here in the States maybe I can help

ps

sorry for the late reply but in reading your post maybe a better solution was not to get the nav in a non-nav car but get a 17 that has all the coolers and

is track ready but with Nav
