I'm going to use Motul motor oil for my track use and was looking for suggestions on the oil filter to use. Best I can find is guys are saying to stick with the Ford OEM filter. Any suggestions?

@  KT/GT : (10 July 2017 - 10:28 AM)

I figured out how to disable to default valves in the pipes so the car's exhaust can be in track/sport mode all the time. With the car running and the exhaust in track mode (valves open) just unplug the wire connection at the rear of the car right by the exhaust tips. The valves must be open when you do this as the wires disconnected keeps it in whatever position they are in when you disconnect them. When you start the car it shows you a warning that the exhaust mode is not available but it goes off in 2 to 3 seconds and you do not have to hit "ok" to get rid of it. Much easier than changing it to track/sport mode each time.

Million dollar question ..... I would read the posts under oil consumption and you will get a better idea.

@  pguile131 : (09 July 2017 - 08:11 PM)

What is normal oil consumption

@  JohnCappola : (08 July 2017 - 10:05 AM)

I am new to this forum and would like to learn more about the 2016 Shelby GT-350.

@  KT/GT : (03 July 2017 - 06:08 PM)

I also will be using this car on the track and I have been told to disable the air bags as they have been activating on the rumble strips. Is this as simple as taking out a fuse?

Hi Folks,

I've joined the forum in the hope that i a) eventually end up with a new toy and B) to get some pointers on the stock base media system.

Here in Dubai, the local ford dealer only orders cars with the base stereo system (small screen, no nav etc...)

I understand it would be the Tech Pack that i would need to order if ordering a new car, but due to the timeframe on getting one, i would rather pick up a unit they already have here and upgrade the stereo.

Issue i'm having is that the only dealer in the UAE has advised they have never done such a thing in their history of operating.

Main concern is they said if i do the conversion myself they will void warranty on all parts they can justify, but mainly its the AC system as the faceplate panel houses the controls, but i believe the touchscreen unit also has this ability.

The have told me to go get all the info on what i want to do and they will check with their tech guys to see what is possible and to keep everything under warranty i need to stick to OEM parts.

So, i need to get an idea on Parts

I understand i will need the 8in unit itself, presumably all wiring (existing wouldn't be sufficient or is it cross/compatible?), the faceplate to house the new larger screen.

What i dont know, is do i need the circuit board from the existing unit to attach to the new faceplate, fit the new head unit then connect the relevant harness?

Looking on fordparts.com, i have come across the following, but i cant work out what parts are needed for the set up i want

http://www.fordparts...keyword=radio#

I would like the 8in screen, with the correct bezel/faceplate and for the system to have Nav, which i presume would need the Middle East Map pack loaded on an SD card, or are these now loaded directly onto the units?

There are a number of different Interface numbers and i have no idea which is which.

Whilst waiting for Ford USA to open so i can chat to someone online, does anyone have any pointers or has done this previously and has part numbers?

I can give them any number of videos from online showing them how to do it.

Any help appreciated and looking forward to a possible solution so i can move forward with a purchase.

Cheers
