Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

Thanks guys, I was able to get a New 2018 Black with White Stripes for 5k over

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

Hey Guys, im new to this forum(registered now) Can any of you give me an idea of what a good price for a new 2017 Gt350R is? I have one on hold in New Jersey, Black with white stripe and electronic package, MSRP is $68020, I have not found one at MSRP so my question is whats a good/decient price on a 2017? Thanks

I just traded in my 2012 zl1 for a 2017 gt350 and noticed on the ride home that 6th gear immediately muffles the glorious exhaust note.  Is there any way I can fix this problem without f*cking with the warranty.  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope the car automatically closes the valves back to normal mode when in 6th. gear. And you couldn't change that even if you didn't care about warranty without getting a code.

It is my understanding that Ford's thinking was that if you are cruising in 6th gear you want the cabin to be quite.  6th gear is really more of an overdrive and if you are cruising in overdrive you are not motoring around therefore you don't need the loud exhaust.  Not saying I agree with it, just sharing what i have heard on this.

I'm with you, I like the sound of the exhaust and hate that it goes away in 6th.

Actually you can fix it. When the car is running and the exhaust valves are turned on, go to the back and disconnet the wires that turns them off and on. This way they will be on all the time including sixth gear

Nice thinking Don, years ago I was stuck driving a Hertz 17' moving van across country and the 55mph rev limiter got old in about 5 minutes.  So I pulled over, looked under hood, disconnected wires and had a much happier cross country drive :)

From those who have done it I dont believe so, I personally like the muted sound when cruising at 80

However when i pass someone i always will drop it down to 5th gear !!

Thanks for the help.  Where exactly can I find these wires, can I do it myself or do I need to go to the ford dealer and have them do it.

Since its not a real emissions issue or would void the warranty a dealer could do it ..

I would jack the car up (be careful and use the proper jack mounts) and hunt for them ... or google it and see if you

have found someone else that has done it to give u a heads up

Just wondering has anyone that's actually disconnected the wires had any problems, set any codes, experienced any adverse effects, etc. ???  I'll bet it roars on startup !!!!  That defeat modules interesting also - assume you would need two (one for each side) - but if disconnecting works why waste the money !

do you guys find 6th gear gutless? I mean at 100-110 kph I feel like it's having a hard time going up hills and incline. Maybe I'm not going fast enough for 6th?

6th gear is a desaster imho. Way to long, its more an over-over drive gear.

On the highway if you canĀ“t cruise at 75-80mph its not worth using.

Every little slow down you have to shift back to 5th.

Was a bit annoying in the beginning but now I mainly stay in 5th, sound is better that way anyway :)

And who cares about mpg ;)

So a side question on this topic if I may... if you were going to do a top-speed run, which on our car I hear is 186mph, would you ever use 6th gear? or do you loose HP by going up to 6th?

Quickben: I have to agree, I leave it in 5th to unless im going down hill. Let's face it this car is a darn PIG on gas in any gear. God I was getting better MPG with my 14 Raptor.

Racer: I believe that 6th gear is just overdrive, it feels so gutless that I can't see it not loosing speed at high speed. I did not try it nor do I have the road to try it here on the island though. I'm sure someone tried it on this forum :)
