Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

IF YOU FOUND A GT350R AT MSRP ITS PROBABLY ALREADY SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE .... JUMP ON IT ... DO NOT PAST GO DO NOT COLLECT $200

@  Biggest : (27 January 2018 - 10:10 AM)

Hey Guys, im new to this forum(registered now) Can any of you give me an idea of what a good price for a new 2017 Gt350R is? I have one on hold in New Jersey, Black with white stripe and electronic package, MSRP is $68020, I have not found one at MSRP so my question is whats a good/decient price on a 2017? Thanks

You need to go to your dealer and have them input the request in the system they mention in the FSA.(it's not automatic, they make them then ship them)...then Ford will send you a shiny new oil filter engraved with the VIN of your vehicle in a nice box. Now, all that said, if you're like me you'll immediately recognize that the wrench is a collectible so you'll hop onto LMR.com and buy a plain ole filter wrench for 24 bucks to replace the nice one in the box so you can save it. LOL. (and remember 16-18 pounds on the filter every time if you dont wanna walk....)

this fsa was sent out because in part some of these motors eat oil hence forth the updated amendment.

You need to check your oil on a regular basis. Some cars use alot of oil some dont.

My car uses a quart every 1000 miles

Thanks guy for the info so here's what happened I took the car in to my local dealer and they changed the oil but the parts guy couldn't find the part number for the oil filter wrench so he sent an email to ford and the reply was that they sent it to the dealer in Texas I did call the parts guy in Texas had no idea what I am talking about and switched me to the sales manager who switched me the sales person who wasn't in at the time very frustrating I think I need to call ford again.

Wow, I noticed some of the dealers don't know how to get on the internal site to do the request...then the juggle begins. Frustrating for what you pay for these cars; they should have their own 800 number or something. One thing, I did realize Ford Customer Service has a Facebook page and they DO monitor it. I messaged them and they replied within an hour and also followed up to make sure the dealer took care of business. good luck man.

Was this a smaller Ford store?  My store that I worked at knew about the torque specs and keeps at least enough oil and filters for this car for a few changes.

No since showing on Ford website it will come directly to you from Ford by USPS. Even if you didn't know about the Ford website it always comes USPS to the first purchaser direct from Ford.

I went to my dealer to see about this. He had to check with the regional service manager. Supposedly, on Oct. 1, Ford will have available a new filter, the wrench, and an updated GT350 owner's supplement. He anticipates getting it on Oct. 3.

I checked with the dealer today about what he had learned. He told me that this FSA did not apply to my Shelby (a 2017). It only applied to the early cars which have a spin on type oil filter. My car has a canister oil filter.

I have an early 2017 with the spin on oil filter.  The Ford filter socket is an almost useless tool - so consider it a display piece.  Better to buy a filter socket off of Ebay or Amazon with a 3/8 inch recess in the back so a 3/8 inch torque wrench can fit on it and within the tight, available space.  To use the Ford socket you have to use a 7/8 inch 1/2 inch drive socket with a 1/2 to 3/8 inch adaptor for a torque wrench - and there just isn't enough room that I've found to get all of that in there on the filter.

John

The box is still in my office but I just looked at it and Ford had the serial number of my car put on the oil filter socket. Im sure if and when I ever sell the car the new owner would like it

So I plan to keep it
