Unless you already have, I would post this under racing ..... but I think you will be fine. I am sure your not the first GT350 to run that track.

@  G3012 : (26 October 2017 - 06:54 PM)

I have had my Metallic GT350 for a little over a year now, and love to drive it. The mountains of Northern CA (Napa, Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino counties) are a drivers dream. I also went to Utah for the 2 day school that was way too much fun. I now am planning on some track days out here in the west, but must meet their sound limits. Sonoma and Thunderhill have a max of 103db, while Laguna Seca are as low as 94 some days. How loud is this monster? Has anyone had any issues on track days for noise? Has anyone been to Sonoma or Thunderhill with their GT350 and had any issues? Thanks for the help,

@  smokum : (24 October 2017 - 03:24 PM)

Any current production car its hard to tell if it will be a collectible or not. I honestly don't see that with the GT350. I dont think it will affect value since it was a warrantied item. Its unfortunate that this is happening but you are getting a new engine which is the right thing to do with Ford. I don't think Ford will replace the car. I suggest if you want a better sample of opinion to start a thread in the appropriate section

@  tedstefaniw : (24 October 2017 - 10:17 AM)

Hey members, would like some Opinions. I purchased my 2016 GT350 late march this year from Levittown Ford NY. I was getting some serious engine knocking noise when starting the car. Had it in the dealer three times, first in July to get it checked, they couldn't diagnose. after keeping the car for days. 2 weeks ago car lost almost all the oil, due to the Oil filter backing out! Most likely due to the excessive engine vibration(rods/lifters?). Destroyed my driveway and my Jobs parking lot. Finally this last time they told me I need a new long block! No problem thay will order new engine. My gripe is I want a new car, I didn't pay over sticker for the best Mustang ever built to get a engine replacement after 6 months. Not to mention , if I ever want to sell the car what this would do to it's resell value. Opinions please?

there is a You Tube comparison of the GT350 and the Roush's various upgrades. No disrespect to a Roush but the two cars dont even come close

Ok, if any of you are super OCD like me....and you happen to use an air tool to take your wheels off...you'll realize that the "typical" Ford lug nuts are as cheap as they come. My gun destroyed 3 the very first time I took the wheels off.  They are 14X1.5's (bigger than legacy mustang size) and made of the cheap pot metal covered by a "wanna be" chrome cover. When you go looking (like at Darman brand which is on most shelves) and then ask around at tire shops, you'll realize it's not super easy to find proper (big acorn 60 degree bulge seal) real chrome or real black chrome lug nuts to swap out the cheapos. I tried the normal (off the shelf) acorns and even at 150 ft lbs, they loosen over time. Luckily, I ended up finding Gorilla brand lugs at LMR.com ($50) that arrived yesterday and are top quality finish and a direct replacement. I had extra because of wheel locks so I put one thru some torture and it held up perfectly.  Whether you go chrome or black to match the wheels, they're good to go. Hope this saves someone the pain. Again, just IMHO. gt

PS: I do not own nor intend to buy Gorilla stock so there's no angle here...just loyalty.

PSS: If you have your wheels off and take the time to apply some of the good one year wax stuff that's on many shelves (like I did to start this thread), you'll notice that the "brake dust issue" becomes much easier to deal with. I have yet to use anything but plain water to spray off brake dust. Doesn't stick like it did. I'll update on how long it lasts....

I have a nice air tank and a shop quality impact gun. I have never use the impact gun for my lug nuts ..... always hand on and hand off using a torque

wrench on all the nuts in a star pattern

I feel the same but that doesn't mean every shop will and eventually those expensive tires do wear out, LOL. The cheap factory lugs wont stand up to seasonal changes of tires that are required (if you do that cause you like "shelby sledding"). PS...Willing to bet anyone lacking full strength can't "hand" off a 150 ft lb lug nut, it was all I could do to break mine loose the first time until I grabbed the extension bar. I guess it's all in the approach. hahahaha

I use a breaker bar and install them with a torque wrench on all my vehicals. Had a mag wheel come off on my 65 Dodge Cornet at 75 mph back in my younger days.

I take that back ...... I put a lock nut on and i on purpose loosened every bolt so that I could re-torque them in sequence properly

If you have a large enough breaker bar and a good torque wrench you should have no issues

I use both 1/2 inch for the breaker bar and I have a very expensive 1/2 snapon torque wrench
