Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

Just wondering if anyone here who has bought a GT350 looked at, or considered a Shelby GTE from Shelby America.  I believe they are going to use the 2018 Mustang as the base car.  You can order from a dealer with the options you want and have them take delivery.  It will be more expensive than the GT350, but also at or near the 700 hp mark.  Not sure how the handling and appearance would compare etc.

I have a GT350 on order, but can let it do if I want.  I am torn - as I would like the higher HP or more street aspects of a coyote, however I have tracked and think the GT350 would be equally as fun - just not in dailiy driving.   I do like torque :)

I do think the GT350 could be somewhat of a collector down the road.  I have no idea of Shelby American Cars hold their value.

Thanks !  Dan

Stick with the GT350, it's an amazing car, plus your getting that wonderful oil eating screaming Voodoo engine :)

I daily drive my GT350 and it's very fun to do so. Yeah you don't have 500lbs of torque at 2k rpm and if you like racing at every red light it won't be the faster car, but you can make that 1st and second rev and scream like nobody's business.

Plus It doesn't look like they will keep producing the Vodoo,  which should make oour cars very collectible in 10 years or so, my 2 cents.

All - thanks for the feedback.

Yes - the GTE would really only offer hp with the Coyote, which you can get with the Roush SC from the dealer with a warranty.    But it is not a GTE.

Ideally - it would be nice to have a power adder for the GT350, but I can see some reasons Ford does not offer:  not clear on engine risk with the Voodoo ( crank design and high CR ) vs Coyote; they would like to keep differentiated from the future GT500; and it is not a high volume car.

I can envision the GT500 having the same handling capabilities as the GT350 - as I bet there will not be much weight difference.  However, they will have to provide some more robustness/stoutness for aerodynamics, stiffen it a bit more for the extra HP, bigger brake system etc ...   But I'd think  pricing would be in the 90s with mark up

And if the Voodoo is discontinued - it can be a nice uniqueness.   Adding oil at oil changes is not a problem LOL

They will have to be careful of not pushing the GT500 over the $100K barrier since you can get the new 2019 ZR1 for about $20K more.  If the GT500 is like $40K less than the ZR1 and goes as fast with about the same HP- than the GT500 wins the game...

I wonder if any dealers would see you a GT350 and put you first in line for the GT500 ( while trading in the GT350 ) ... and of course with minimal mark up :)    So what would a years depreciation be on trade, assuming you kept pristine :)

Your probably better waiting a year or 2, won't be such a novelty then, plus your depreciation won't be as bad since 2018 is the last of them.
