Hello All! I have a 2017 GT350R chassis HR687. Does anyone have the final breakdown on the 2017 production number totals and production of each specific model and option pkgs yet? Ford SVT told me there were 942 R's made and about 6000 GT's. Also, what is a good street tire to run on an R since no other company makes the R rear tire size? Can I run the front tire size on the rear of the R? I have seen phohot of guys running the 325-30-19 on the rear but it looks too large for the wheel well. I wanted to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks!

@Biggest for a 2017 anything between 5 and 10 over is a good price but you'll have tough time finding the color you want. Popular color/stripes combo can easily go for 15/20 over. I'm not sure if I would even try to buy a 2018. Being the last production year I'd be surprised to see anything below 20 over sticker. My advice is to be patient and keep calling around all over the country. I got mine at 7 over sticker out of pure luck. Every single dealer that I spoke with before finding mine would not go below 15. All you need is one lucky situation where they are trying to get rid of it

@  panzer69 : (29 January 2018 - 01:15 PM)

yeah i agree with that, my dealer is selling his 60k above

Man, this car has turned out to be the oddest thing ever for tires.  First off I can't find anyone that makes stock replacement size F/R other than the Pilot Super Sports; not that that's a problem...great tire.

But here recently, I've really been considering the 6GR R replicas wheels.  They're really growing on me.  They are factory R specs with size and offset.  I'd want to run the stock R sizes on these and darn it wouldn't you know it I can only find those sizes in the Sport Cups.  Awesome tire, I know, but not crazy about tearing up a set of Sport Cups on the street every day.

Turning out to be surprising how funky it is trying to get tires for this car.  There's literally zero options out there, at least if you want to stick to stock sizes.

I guess this was more venting than a real question.

Although the GT350 and GT350R have different sizes, the same situation exists for both cars:  No options except the OEM tires.  I have to wonder why Ford picked these odd sizes.  I'd like to believe they were "fully optimized" for the car, but I sorta doubt that.  I have no complaint about the Michelins, but I'd like to have other options.

Also be nice to rotate the tires, have a spare . . .

(yeah, I know....)

Yup. Agree. At least one other brand to pick from would be nice. Not that I don’t like the Michelin’s also. And the aggravating part is some other brands are like one size off...they’ll have a front but one size off on the rear, or vice versa. Rotation and spare I can live without. I love a staggered set up and apparently there is a spare option out there.

You could go with the new 4s in 305 up front and 325 in the rear.

I thought of that, but I'm super duper picky about how a tire looks; how it fits on the wheel.  I've seen the pics of that set up and I don't care for it.  But, that's just me, just personal preference on how I want it to look.  I'd love to have the 305/315 30 combo in the Super Sports; that would even be an awesome option. I sent an email/size request to Nitto about the NT05.  They're one of the options that come in really close with possibilities.

I will say this however...even though the size combo's are a pain in the butt with zero options, Ford sure f$%&ing nailed it dead on with wheel/tires size combos on both cars.  The tire/wheel combo, the way it fits on the car, the way it looks on the car, all of it.  Spot on.

@Galaxy do you have an R? I have an R and after going through three sets of Cup2s in less then 2500 miles I'm tempted to try the PS4S or the Super Sports even though I would have to run 325 in the back. I need cheaper tires that can last more than two track days. Do you think there would be any issues related to the rear tires being oversized?

No sir, non-R car.  Nope, not at all.  My dislike for the 325 on the rear is purely aesthetic.  I think the tire is too wide for the 11.5" wheel, but that's just completely me.  Drivability there should be no issue.  I just like a little more stretch than that.

If you do a search for project 6gr wheels, you'll see a ton of guys running that set up (fyi...6gr wheels are exact spec to factory R wheels)

And you nailed it as to why I don't want the 6gr wheels and be stuck with on the Cup 2 option.  Now, I have seen guys running the 295/305 35 non-R sizes on the 6gt R spec wheels, but that's too much of a sidewall stretch.

I know, I know...picky picky. :-P

Got it. I'll give a call to Ford Performance this afternoon to see if they have any recommendations about this

Oh yea.....I sent 6GR an inquiry about making the R replica wheels in non-R specs...they never responded....that’s annoying.

You could run 305 square too.

Meh. I like the staggered. And also, a 305 on that 11.5” wheel is way to stretched for me. Like I said, I’m waaay too picky with my wheel/tire fitment. :-P

So I think I may have found a solution that works for me and my taste.  There's nothing out there in a 315/30 but the Sport Cup 2's.  I've seen pics of a few different brands of 325/30's on the R wheel, but even that was still too wide for my personal preference.  Continental Extreme Contact Sport has a 325/30 that's about the narrowest 325 out there and looks really good on that 11.5" wheel.  Thinking I may give that a try.  Any chance anyone is familiar with that tire yet?
